Em dùng đúng dạng so sánh của tính từ, trạng từ ngắn và dài, kể cả dạng bất quy tắc. Em viết lại câu bằng các cấu trúc so sánh tương đương.
Ngữ pháp trọng tâm
Tính từ ngắn: adj-er than, the adj-est (big → bigger → the biggest; hot → hotter). Tính từ dài: more/the most + adj (more difficult, the most interesting). Bất quy tắc: good → better → the best; bad → worse → the worst; far → further/farther. So sánh bằng: as + adj/adv + as; phủ định not as ... as. Nhấn mạnh so sánh hơn: much, far, a lot + adj-er. So sánh kép: The + so sánh hơn + S + V, the + so sánh hơn + S + V. Tăng dần: adj-er and adj-er, more and more + adj dài.
Ví dụ
Ha Noi is bigger than Hue. This is the most interesting film I have ever seen. My brother is as tall as my father. The more you practise, the better you become. Life in the city is getting more and more expensive.
Lỗi hay gặp
So sánh kép sai: "more bigger" là sai. Dùng the most với than: "the most intelligent than" là sai. Nhầm tính từ và trạng từ: "sings more beautiful" là sai, phải là "more beautifully".
